A reader who stops after one sentence should still know what happened.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Three things the opening should answer<\/h2>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>What happened, in plain words.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Where and when it happened.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Why it matters to your readers.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything after that can add detail, context and voices.
